Patriotism is not idolatry. Supporting a certain leader is not idolatry.
Christians are to be salt and light in the culture. They are to step into spheres of influence for the glory of God.
Many of you do not have the advantage and blessing of studying theology. Inside theological circles there has been a long debate about how Christians should interact with culture. In consideration of scripture, we see example after example of God’s people being in positions of leadership politically, even under evil empirical leaders which were affected by their integrity as godly image bearers.
Daniel
Nehemiah
Esther
Moses
David
Solomon
All the kings and queens
The prophets.
In fact, every prophet in scripture interacted with kings and leaders in their generation, including Jesus.
Somehow, false prophets and false teachers have stepped into position to exalt their views end ideas above the Word of God, which teaches us absolute truth about what God wants for us. Just this past couple weeks we saw several pastors that literally tried to silence the voice of the church in America with their poor doctrines.
The United States has a very unique government that was founded upon biblical principles. Everything from the triune levels of government that offers checks and balances to the triune branches of legislative checks and balances to our system of voting to the electoral process is based upon scriptural principles. John Adams acknowledged this:
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
There has been a battle between good and evil since the founding of this country. However, our constitution is self-correcting and always places the person above the mass popular shifts. It has been this constitution that ultimately protected those enslaved….those who could not vote…those who lost their land to evil settlers…those who experienced discrimination. It will take care of all—regardless of race, creed, or political affiliation.
Today, Christians have a voice, a vote. It is completely irresponsible to abdicate this responsibility. It is not idolatrous to be patriotic. Rather, it is foolish to do anything less than be patriotic when your country is established and fighting to be a light in a dark work that points to the God Who providentially established, protected, and prospered this country.
Sure, we need a revival. It is already moving across this great land and is firing up in a historic way. Thousands are already coming to the Lord or coming into a personal, passionate, intimate relationship with God.
Sure, we have work that has come into the modern conversation. However that conversation is not forced by hatred, violence, or by placing any one group or their needs above any others.
Sure, we see a great need for strengthening of all our institutions that have been under attack—home, education, finance, media, church, and government.
However, we don’t quit and give up because they are broken by our enemy. We rebuild. We restore. We bring reconciliation. That’s who we are!
We are called to be ministers of reconciliation.
We are called to be salt and light.
We are called to be image bearers of a kingdom that bring freedom, liberty, power, beauty, wisdom, love, and joy into this world, even into governments.
It is separatist, isolationist, and irresponsible to leave our culture without the influence of the kingdom of God. God intends for us to go into all the world…first starting in our homes, our backyard, our communities, and our nation.
Get out and vote.
This is the decade of the mouth. This is the year that our voice should speak words that carry weight for the glory of God.
Today, I declare that this is the turnaround that will break forth an unprecedented revival fire in our country. It’s not just about an election. It’s about culture. Will we wake up? Will we stand up? Will we speak up?
Will we vote for principles and a platform that stands for those principles or will we dare lay hands upon the murder of innocent babies…the trafficking and slavery of precious children through a fluid border for the purpose of sexual perversion…the disintegration of all our institutions….the legalization of substances that lead to addictions and more brokenness…the shutdown of our churches from worship…the promotion of all manner of sexual immorality…the typical dirty politics of generations…the attack upon our cities by subversive organizations…and the steps into a new world order?
This has not just been an attack upon our country. It has been an attack on all the kingdom of God stands for. There is truly only one vote for Christians. Get out there and vote red!
It’s time for a red wave!
Come on! #RedLandslide
