Satan is a counterfeit. He is a copycat. He always tries to present us with a counterfeit to God’s real thing. It always comes with serious ramifications
It might be a relationship that glistens. At first glance, it may have many characteristics that you are looking for, but something just doesn’t feel quite right. And…you compromise to keep it going. You compromise over and over. You work so hard to keep it. You are never quite enough. It doesn’t work…because it’s a counterfeit.
It might be that job or business that looked so good, so perfect. Sure, it provides for your needs, but barely. It’s difficult. It’s hard. Sure, you are valuable, but again you constantly battle with being enough and still can’t bring your “everything” to the table. You feel stuck. You feel like there is so much more. You are in the rat race and have no idea how to take the leap to get out without it taking you out. It’s a counterfeit.
It may be a very personal area of your life—like your health or your provision or your temptation or your addiction. It seemed so right. It seemed good. But…what you are doing is not working and you can’t get above it. It feels as though nothing will ever change. It feels as though there are no other options. It feels as though God is detached and will not help. It feels like there are no other options. It feels like that fir one reason…it’s a counterfeit.
My friend, Satan is a counterfeit. His ways are intended to be a distraction, detour, derailment from the real thing. It’s one of his works. It’s his way of doing things.
It is part of his plan to keep you away from that godly relationship that God has planned for you.
It’s part of his plan to keep you away from your calling, life purpose, dreams, and destiny.
It’s part of his plan to block your provision.
It’s part of his plan to keep you sick and unable to step into your calling.
It’s part of his plan to keep you so focused on yourself, your weaknesses, and your desires that you miss the real you, your deepest passions, and your real identity.
It’s all counterfeit.
It’s all a big swap.
It’s all a defrauding.
It’s all his ultimate theft.
Today is the day to call out this thief. The Bible says it this way:
Proverbs 6:31 (The Passion Translation)
But if he’s caught, he still has to pay back what he stole sevenfold; his punishment and fine will cost him greatly.
Today is the day to recognize the theft. Today is the day to go into the courts of heaven to your Heavenly Father Who judges all things fairly. He cares for you and what is yours. He will rule on your behalf. He will stop and punish the thief. He will bring justice as bright and shining as the noon day. He will require the enemy to repay you seven-fold.
You are God’s beloved. Your identity as His child gives you privileges and position. You have access to positioning, possessions, provision, power, and purpose from God—not anything less, not any substitutes, not any counterfeits.
Rise up.
Know who you are.
Know what is yours.
Know the schemes of the enemy.
Know your Heavenly Father.
Know His plans for you.
Know His perfect and very good will for you.
Know His provision and protection over all that concerns you.
Know all that He can and will do for you.
Beloved, God has only the very, very best for you. No counterfeits. No bait-and-switch. Simply very, very good things. He says it best in Jeremiah 29:
11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart.
Look at that passage in The Message Bible and soak it in:
I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree.
Today, the enemy has been caught. Take him before your loving Father. You won’t be disappointed. God has very good things planned for you. No counterfeits!
