Do you set resolutions for the New Year?
Call me a sappy traditionalist, but I always set resolutions each New Year. I have recently added seeking God for a “word” for the New Year and asking for a prophetic word as well.
Last year’s word for the year was SO on target! I felt that God was impressing upon me to make the word “change” as my word last year. I heard Him speak to my heart that people look for change in so many places that tend to fail them. He wanted for me to press in and let HIM radically bring change for me. I heard Him speak to my heart that the end of 2019 would look nothing like the beginning and that he was going to transform every area of my life. Boy, did He!
The year did not end before my amazing boyfriend proposed to me. I was barely moving into the New Year when I was blessed with a job working at home so I could leave my corporate job. I finished my Bachelor’s Degree and began grad school. God opened doors for me to get back into my business and ministry.
Truly NOTHING looked the same by the end of 2019.
As I began to seek God for resolutions, plans, a word, and a prophetic word for 2020, God was not done with “change.” He began to move on my heart about “stretching myself.” That began in a coaching program, but went beyond that challenge. It got deep inside of me. I felt that God wanted for me to ask the hard question—am I stretching myself or staying in my comfort zone?
There is something about staying comfortable. For one thing, it keeps us stuck. I don’t know about you, but I am exasperated with things that keep me stuck. In addition, it plays small. It stays small. It is the enemy of doing big things!
None of us are called to the comfort zone.
Stretching may not always feel good. It is definitely not easy. Even the definition infers that when stretched there is extension, increased capacity, and a shaping. It requires adapting. It requires pressing beyond current lids and limitations. It requires maximizing talents, abilities, resources, and connections.
Having a word like that going into the New Year inspires me on one hand and completely makes me tremble on the other hand. I am excited to press into NEW. I am also excited to step out and step up in areas that have long been neglected or awaiting the fullness of time. My trepidation is simply my own insecurities, fears, and lack. I know that when I bring my weakness to the cross, God always takes that offering and does mighty exploits. This year will be the same!
As we move into 2020, I have heard another thing. I keep hearing the words, JUMPSTART 2020!
I was working on all of the things to do on my big, long list. As I talked with my dear friend, Felice Gerwitz, we came up with a great way to jumpstart the New Year.
She is planning an amazing conference in Tampa, FL the first week of February (learn more about it here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ultimate-christian-communicators-conference-tickets-525123659?discount=50off). I will be teaching three sessions and hosting some group coaching too. We were already jazzed about that, but we were talking about getting ready for it. I wanted some friends to join me in a challenge so we can jumpstart the New Year. Well, we are doing that AND…opening it up to all of our friends!
We are offering a challenge that will offer live sessions that you can join live from home. We decided to step that up by offering replays, a guide to come alongside of everyone to really flesh out plans for the new year, and a little fun challenge to earn prizes as everything is done. You won’t want to miss it! Well, learn more here:
We kick off our first session Thursday night live. I will send more info about that, just save Thursday night at 8PM ET on your calendar.
And, that is not all! If you are just looking for mom-to-mom encouragement, this is still your spot. Don’t leave. I will release more info on other things that are in the works. For now, hop over to our community and share what you are doing to stretch this New Year. You can join us here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SteppingUpToYourCall/. I will be hopping in after I send this email. 🙂
Well, I know this is longer than I anticipated when I started. I want to thank you for being YOU. I am so thankful. Your friendship through the years is priceless to me. I am expecting big things this year. I am so grateful that you are doing life with me!
Have an amazing day!
Don’t forget to connect! It is going to be so good!
Blessings,
Cindy
